studio zero: olive tree photogrammetry
2023
Project: A prototype for advanced digital environmental documentation, optimized for web-based modeling.
Technical specifications: 833 photographs captured via photogrammetry (12 million faces in the high-fidelity version; web-optimized version: 50,000 polygons)
Shooting: Studio Zero
Technical content: High-resolution 3D photogrammetric model of a centuries-old olive tree within Il Campo dei Giganti. This three-dimensional processing was developed to document environmental heritage with scientific precision, capturing the exact morphology, dimensions, and volume of the site’s most imposing specimen.
Vision & Implementation: This work serves as the prototypical stage of a videotaping and immersive projection system. The objective is to enable the life-sized global displacement of the 3D olive tree, allowing this natural monument to be virtually “replanted” and experienced at its actual scale in further contexts through Digital Twin technology.
Location: Il Campo dei Giganti
Year: 2023
